When looking for blushes, what do you consider most?
Consideration 1:
COLOR
When it comes to blushes, color is the first thing I find most important to consider. The color selection for my skin type seems a bit too hard to find if I am aiming for a bare natural look. I am light to medium with warm skin color tone.
The make up trend here in Asia seems to be more of a naked natural look rather than heavy contoured look compared to the west. So I’m always in search for a perfect natural blush color.
So, if you are like me (Filipino Skin), try the products I love below to attain that natural healthy look.
LIGHT TO FAIR SKIN
FAIR TO MEDIUM
MEDIUM TO DARK
The above mention products aims for a very natural look as opposed to that more dramatic look and will work for both warm to cool tones.
Consideration 2:
WEAR TIME/ LONGEVITY
How long it will stay on cheeks? For an oily gal like me, again its hard to find a long wearing blush that will out-stand humid and sweat. Whenever I go to a store , sales rep always recommends powder blush after informing her that I have oily to combo skin. But for my skin type, wether or not a blush is in powder form, wear time is most important because I'd like to have a healthy looking skin throughout the day, be it gel, powder, liquid or cream. My skin type is oily to combo, very oily T-zone that is prone to blush slide because I sweat a lot due to our very hot humid weather in the Philippines.

Consideration 3:
PIGMENTATION
Pigments assist longevity. The more pigmented, the longer it stays. So the above mentioned products for weartime, and pigments wise, the list below are the winner I know to date.

Consideration 4:
BLENDABILITY:
Blendability must not be forgotten, otherwise a blusher may have the most beautiful color and most pigments but very poor when it comes to blending. We may look like a messy and patchy lady if our blush is not blended well. Of course we don't want our cheekers to destroy the foundation we just applied, otherwise we may not be able to meet our appointments.
The secret for perfect blending is the specific products we use. And it goes back to foundation. Foundation and blush must always be compatible when it comes to texture. If we use cream foundation, it must also be a cream blush. Otherwise it will not blend well and it will smudge. Imagine a powder foundation topped with liquid blush. The effect is a disaster. So remember girls, foundation and blush must be of the same type and texture. However, setting your foundation with powder before using a powder blush is a foolproof technique.
