Foundation is created to achieve uniformity, to even out the skin tone and hide imperfections, yet not to mask your face and become something else. Unless you are an actor or a actress, it is important to achieve that very skinlike natural look.

Before applying your foundation, it is more important to shop the right foundation for your type and color. After finding the perfect foundation for you, here is a guide to applying it.
What you need:
Foundation Brush or Sponge
Foundation Brushes and Sponges comes in many different forms and sizes. If you plan to use sponge, choose a high quality as it will make a big difference in the outcome of your makeup. Beauty Blender is a very expensive tool and a lot of testimonials justifies the ease and effectiveness of the product. However, I'd go for the Real Technique Miracle Sponge if you wanna stay on the budget, similar effect and quality. Same with brushes , choose a quality brush. I know, I know its hard to find quality products in the Philippines, but be a savvy shopper. Ask for help, ask the beauty rep at the store which is the best she tried, and she'll tell you her secret. Just be nice in asking and she'll recommend the bestseller product in her area.
Depending on your choosing you can either use any of the two or may also use your clean bare hands.
There are certain formulation of foundations: stick, cream, liquid, powder or gel. Best tools in applying each,
Stick Foundation - Dense Brush or Palm
Cream Foundation - Stippling Brush (light coverage) Buffing Brush (full coverage) or Sponge
Thick Liquid - Sponge or Foundation Brush
Thin Liquid - Bare Hands or Brush
Powder Foundation - Powder Brush or Sponge
Gel Foundation - Sponge or Foundation Brush
